Inheritance tax changes
2/18/2008
In October 2007 the Chancellor announced proposed increases in the Inheritance tax threshold for married couples and those in civil partnerships to £600,000.00.
This does not however apply in every case and it is important that you seek legal advice when considering how you wish your estate to pass on your death as not only Inheritance tax may bite but so may care home charges for the surviving spouse or civil parther.
It also does not apply to partners who are living together how ever long they may have been together.
It is essential that before making or amending your will you seek legal advice. For further information contact either Sharon Smith or Valerie Wormald
